”I have spent all 31 years of my life being surrounded by animals I wouldn’t have it any other way. Growing up I had 6 cats and a few dogs and through the years had or looked after various other pets. Back when I lived in Devon I used to run a farm where I cared for Horses, Cattle, Sheep, Goats, Chickens, Pigs and working Dogs. I was the go to Dog lady and went round all of Devon and Cornwall helping people with their breeding programs, microchipping and pregnancy scanning dogs and cats as well as helping with delivering hundreds of puppies throughout the south west. I also judged a few charity dog shows which I used to enjoy in my spare time”

“Ive been surrounded by animals for so long it feels less like a lifestyle and more like life. Whether i was learning to walk and using labradors like support beams or riding horses before i could even swim, theres always been a large space filled only by a pet.
Ive loved working at the kennels as not only am i surrounded by beautiful animals all day but a lovely team who have helped me settle in comfortably.
They say you’ll never work a day in your life if you love your job, whats not to love about cuddling all the pets and playing with the dogs in the garden? Interacting with these animals is a beautiful thing and i’m incredibly lucky to work with them so closely.

“ I’ve always been surrounded by dogs, as my family are huge pet lovers, so caring for animals feels completely natural to me. I absolutely love working with pets it gives me a break in-between my university studies, in which I’m studying midwifery. I believe every dog and cat deserves to feel right at home, so I make sure to give them the same love, comfort, and attention they would get from their own family. Whether it’s playtime in the garden or a nice walk to stretch their legs, I’m always happy to make their time with me fun and reassuring.”

“I’ve always loved animals, I’ve grown up with animals, mainly cats, but there’s always been a love for them in my heart. No matter the animal, cat, dog, hedgehog, insect, whatever, I love them all. Working at the kennels has definitely taught me a lot, but especially about the different behaviours in dogs and cats but also how much I love spending my time with them. Going from volunteering to staff member has made me feel like I can connect so much more with the animals as I’m there more than once a week and I wouldn’t have it any other way.”

I’ve always had animals since I can remember whether it was cats, dogs, snakes, golden frogs and even a gecko! I currently have a cocker spaniel who is very hyper and keeps me on my toes along with my 5 year old daughter. I love working at the kennels and meeting all the fur babies they bring such joy to my job as each doggie and cat are different so there’s never two days the same.

Hello my name is Laila, I work at St Anne’s Kennels and Cattery. I have been working here for some years now I absolutely adore it, Animals are my world they mean everything to me. I always look after other peoples dogs like they are my own. Your dog or cat will get the best love and care from me at the kennels I’m always there to make sure their safe and happy and enjoying their stay with us. I’ve been round dogs all my life so it’s defiantly my passion in life I wouldn’t change it for the world I promise you your pets will have a great time at our Kennels and get so much love.

Hello, my name is Izzy, although I have only worked at St Annes Kennels and Cattery since February 2026, I have loved every second of it. All animals, especially dogs and cats are everything to me as I have grown up with them, I cant imagine a life without them. Whether its walking, playing or spending time with them, animals have always been right by my side. Working at the Kennels has allowed me to spend more of my time caring for these animals, which was always my dream.
The team at St Annes Kennels and Cattery have been so kind and welcoming to me, I could of not asked for a better workplace filled with so much love, not only for the animals but also for others.

Hello, my name is Natalia. I’ve always had a real love for animals, especially dogs. I really enjoy getting to know all their different personalities. I love working at the kennels because it’s so rewarding to help the dogs feel happy, comfortable and well cared for while they’re with us. I especially enjoy spending time with them and giving them lots of attention. I’m really happy to be part of the team and love being able to spend my days doing something I genuinely enjoy while making sure every dog has the best experience possible.

VOLUNTEER
My name is Elea and I’ve been volunteering at St Anne’s Kennels and Cattery for a while now and it’s the highlight of my week. I’ve always loved animals and I’ve grown up around dogs and cats. My two cats are the love of my life and they have always been there when I’ve needed them. Without animals there wouldn’t be a functioning world which is why I have always been an advocate for them and that’s something I wish to continue doing in the future. I hope that in the future I can continue to share my love and passion in various ways. I want to continue volunteering and helping out as much as possible because I love everything about this experience and I am so grateful to have this opportunity to carry out a true part of myself.
